Mr. Jie Feng is familiar with the operation mode of multinational companies and listed companies, and has working experience in service industry and manufacturing industry. He has rich practical experience in legal issues involved in shipping, land transportation, international trade, manufacturing, unions and labor relations, and can provide focused and practical legal advice for various contracts and lawsuits involved by companies and enterprises at different stages of development.
Mr. Feng has worked as general counsel for America Chung Nam, sourcing arm of Nine Dragons Paper (listed in Hong Kong), the largest paper mill in Asia, in the United States for more than ten years. America Chung Nam is a global trading company, involving shipping, land transportation, warehousing and other fields. During his tenure, Mr. Feng: (1) led a team of external lawyers to win an unfair competition lawsuit, and was awarded judgment of $13 million and a punitive damage of $5 million; (2) responded to the investigation by the US Department of Labor and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and successfully avoided large back wages and penalties; (3) a payment dispute of nearly 10 million dollars was settled with 1.4 million dollars before finalization of mediation; (4) responsible for the internal investigation of the company, and lead the team of external lawyers to successfully dismiss the sexual harassment allegations against a company executive; (5) led a team of Australian criminal lawyers to successfully convict and sentence the principal responsible persons of Australian suppliers involved in the letter of credit fraud case, and put them in prison.
In addition, Mr. Feng served as the general counsel of Nine Dragons Paper's wholly-owned subsidiary ND Paper in the United States. He participated in the acquisition of local paper mills in the early stages of ND Paper's establishment, and participated in the negotiation with the local government, relevant energy departments and financial institutions on investment incentive. After ND Paper was put into operation and the legal staff short-handed, he served as the general counsel, to provide services for its headquarters in Chicago, USA, as well as the operation center in central USA and four paper mills on the east coast, including review large-scale material procurement and service contract, handle industrial injury cases, maintain union relations, and respond to antitrust investigations by the US Department of Justice.
Mr. Feng graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with a Bachelor's degree in International Economic Law, and obtained a Master's degree in Law (LL.M.) and a Doctor's degree in Law (J.D.) from Washington University in St. Louis. Mr. Feng is license in New York State.
